Thanks to Evy Drew, secretary of The Friends of Pontoise (the French town twinned with Sevenoaks), eight Petanque teams held a “friendly” competition at Seal Petanque Club, The White Rock Inn, Underriver on Friday 4th September which proved to be a great success!

Teams from Southborough, Otford, Seal PC and Friends of Pontoise played 3 matches each for a Trophy which the playing parties agreed should become an Annual fixture.

The visiting teams have been playing on Friday nights at The White Rock throughout the year and Seal PC Chairman, Howard Sandom welcomed this opportunity for the visitors to play this first event together with Seal PC.

Whilst the two Seal teams emerged as front runners, this event was really about the visiting teams who are less regular players than SPC.

The competition was closely contested with the team from Otford coming in 3rd place, with first and second places going to Friends of Pontoise teams who were only separated by one point!
